Tahapan tersebut adalah: <i>1)</i> <i>identifying the topic and organizing pupils into groups, 2) planning the learning task, 3) carring out the investigation, 4) preparing a final report, 5) presenting the final report, and 6) evaluation.</i> Dengan melihat tahapan tersebut, maka pembelajaran dengan teknik group investigation berawal dari mengidentifikasi topik dan mengatur murid kedalam kelompok, merencanakan tugas yang akan dipelajari, melaksanakan investigasi, menyiapkan laporan akhir, mempersentasikan laporan akhir dan berakhir pada evaluasi. </span></div><div class="MsoListParagraphCxSpMiddle" style="line-height: 200%; margin: 12pt 0cm 10pt 51pt; text-align: justify; text-indent: 29.2pt;"> <span style="font-family: "Times New Roman","serif"; font-size: 12pt; line-height: 200%;">Dari uraian pendapat Slavin, di atas dapat dijelaskan bahwa dalam group investigation, para siswa bekerja melalaui enam tahapan.
